A new simplified FAFSA is being introduced for the 2024-2025 academic year. Due to the many changes involved, the FAFSA form for the 2024-2025 school year will not be available until December 2023.
FAFSA is used to determine your family's Expected Family Contribution (EFC), the amount your family is expected to contribute to your education for one academic year, and should be completed every year you are attending college. The college will use this information along with the college's Cost of Attendance to determine your "financial need" and award package.
What is Bold Promise: Incoming fall freshmen who qualify will have their tuition and mandatory fees covered 100% for eight fall/spring semesters. The semesters must be taken consecutively within a 4-year time period (approx. $44,000 value across four years) and eligibility must be maintained.
What is AlamoPromise: It covers tuition and required fees for current academic year graduates from participating high schools seeking an academic certificate or associate degree at one of the five Alamo Colleges: Northeast Lakeview College, Northwest Vista College, Palo Alto College, San Antonio College, and St. Philip's College.
Eligible graduates from the class of 2024 should submit their admission and financial aid applications by Feb. 28, 2024e priority guarantee date to be considered for AlamoPROMISE. Applications submitted after this date will be considered on a space-available basis.
